LeXenomics: Economic Research
Because our economy is so vital to our quality of life, Lexington must be on the ball
when it comes to knowing the economy's "ins and outs."
We need to know which industries are developing - to capitalize on coming opportunities. Likewise, we need to know which industries are declining - so we can adapt accordingly.
We need to know what employment sectors show the most promise for the future, then build Lexington around those.
How many jobs, inside Fayette County, come from the horse industry, the tech sector, education, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, etc.? What are the salary levels for each? And what are the 1, 5 and 10 year trends?
What is happening elsewhere in the world? What are other successful cities doing, day-by-day, to provide the best city possible for their citizens?
The answers to all these questions, and many more, need to be known by our city's decision-makers so we can advance and continually "beautify" our economic landscape to complement our beautiful rural landscape.
